looking to get a clean JTM45 base sound with the Marshall JVM head.. anyone have any good settings ?

I use this amp at my rehearsal studio not at home so Ideally I don't wanna spend half hour tweaking knobs when I could be rehearsing !!

A JTM45 is KT66 with an GZ34 rectifier, which is bass-heavy and very 'sloppy' in its distortion (e.g. when muting strings, there isn't a tight chunk to it.) I don't own a JVM, but it's EL34 with s solid state rectifier (which my SL-X is), which is much tighter on the bottom end.

With my Les Paul, to get my SL-X to sound anything similar to my 45 all-dimed in the tone, on the SL-X I have to dime the bass and roll back the mid to 6, the treble to 7 and the presence down to 3 or so (gets rid of the 'fizz' people around here are talking about lately.) What guitar/pickups are you using? It would be slightly different if you are using single coil / Strat vs hum / Paul.

thanks for the settings ! I use a Godin LG p90 with 2 Seymour Duncan p-90s and a classic vibe telecaster custom... I will try these settings. I really dig the loose sloppy distortion and use a lot of fuzz.
