marshall super lead modded vs jcm 800 2203 ?

hello guys what the difference between one marshall super lead 1959 modded with extra gain stage from extra tube and master volume and marshall jcm 800 2203 stock model ? thanks a lot

Mod have to do with who did them & what type.
You could get a lemon.
Hard to beat an 800 but you gotta turn them up.

the 2203 have more gain stage then 1959 super lead model ???? 2203 have a 4 gain stages and super lead have a 3 gain stages ?

Thr super lead 1959 modded have a Hollywood mod by lee jackson
the 2203 is a 1984. Stock model

They will have the same number of gain stages, you are correct, stock the 1959 has one less gain stage because of the split channels. I'm sure Lee has voiced the modded one to be hotter and, for lack of a better description, more 80s sounding.

this is hollywood mod same mod used for steve vai, warren demartini and george lynch

the pull knob on the far left the switches in another stage of gain . the treble control also has a pull which adds even more gain . add master volume.

My advice is play the amp before you buy it if possible to see if you like it.
Lee's stuff is kinda hit or miss.
