maxon 808... Mod it?

Just got a Maxon 808 at a pawnshop for 20 bucks! Missing a knob but a dealer has a set for 8 bucks so great deal. I mainly wanted to know how these stack up in the slew of TS pedals out there and does anyone mod these? Mr.Spina maybe? I guess I would like more bass plus all the right vintage mojo on top of that. Any ideas?

Most of the complaints in the whole TS series is the loss of lows when you engage it,an overall lack of lows,and a midrange hump that some guys hate! If any of these are things you don't like,then it can be modded.

Some folks wish the pedal also had more overall available gain also.

Thanks StratDeluxer97, I know you said your TS mod was beefier and had more lows which would make the mid hump seem less right? I am not concerned with more gain just a more balance feq respoce if more gain comes with that its a bonus I guess. I just got the pedal for soo cheap wanted to make the most out of it! Mr. Spina can you work some magic on it?

Yes...Adding in the lows dips the mid spike down to where most of us like it...If you just need more lows and not more gain,not a problem....You can also just leave the drive settings lower and if you need more gain,you have it?

You gotta ask? Well it sounds like a TS style pedal... Ingaged there is a drop in bass and a push in the mids. Sounds good for what it is, but I like things that are a little more even sounding across the spectrum as I play Gibson SG's through a Bassman LTD and a Lonestar Special 4X10 I got all the mids I could ever need!
