Maxon OD808

what are your guys opinion about this pedal....all the guitar shops around me don't carry this pedal or this brand. i have the MXR Wydle od i really like this OD so is the maxon better just as good or worse in your opinion

The Maxon is different. If they carry the Ibanez TS 808, try it. It's the same circuit. Maxon makes or used to make Ibanez pedals. The Wylde OD is based of the Boss Super Overdrive.

I could go on and on about the differences between them but what it all boils down to is what your ear likes. I prefer the overdrive from the Boss and MXR Wylde over the Tube Screamers.

IMO, the OD808 is one of the best tubescreamers out of the box.

it's not a typical TS9 box, but it's small and lightweight. I also like the switch better than the TS9 switch.

a good pedal for the $$$

Check the online stores, MF, Music123, American Musical Supply, and the ton of others. They are more expensive than the Ibanez version but they also use much better components.
