I say white pickguard on the black Strat! Black guitars represent a good value, cause they are always priced significanlty lower than others since they are less desirable( except for vintage Strats and Pauls) although im always skeptical as to what the maker is trying to hide.
I have a Warmoth that has a black back, and over time, six seams appeared, yep, a six piece body plain as the tail on my but.. Muther *****!

Subjects with strong contrast don't tend to react well to flash photography, or bright sunlight. Find a north facing window on an overcast day, and you should find you can get much more shadow detail into your shots, and you'll kill the burnt out highlights too.
