Melancon Guitars

Hey folks

Has anyone here played any Melancon guitars?

If so I'd be interested to hear what you thought of them.

Cheers
Jonny

Re: Melancon Guitars

If there is something at Guitar Asylym you like let me know they are right around the corner I can check it out for you.

Re: Melancon Guitars

The Classic Artist ones look like a really nice 'superstrat' option. I might have to wait a while before getting one I think.

Thanks for the offer of checking them out though.

Re: Melancon Guitars

Martin Music here in Memphis carries the line. They are really nice. The feel of the neck, and the overall setup is excellant. Haven't bought one. Don't really need another guitar, but they certainly are well made.

Re: Melancon Guitars

I played their strat-style guitar and loved it. I saw a few used ones for around 800 USD at a not-too-distant guitar shop. Although I'm not sure what the going rate is.

The neck was great and unplugged it was super resonant-if I had 800 I would have picked it up.

FWIW-I saw Lyle Lovett about a year and a half ago and his lead guitarist played one with outstanding country/bluesy tone!

Re: Melancon Guitars

nice stuff...quartersawn maple too...

sound like solid guitars!?

there's a place up near south bend indiana that sells em...i'll have to check it out next time i'm up there...i go about once a month to visit a couple of my wife's brothers...

Re: Melancon Guitars

Wow, that's interesting. Would be a good move for him putting some of them out through Christian players. Be a lot of young players seeing them at Christian music festivals etc.

I think seeing people using instruments live has actually had more influence on me than seeing them on TV.

Gee, I hope it doesn't mean that he puts his prices up before I can get one :(
