Mesa 4x8x-1x12?

I saw an interesting cab on Ebay. It has four 8 inch and one central 12 inch speaker. What was the idea behind this one and what do they sound like?

Who knows? But I have a strange little 60's Phelpa amp with 3x8" that is a knockoff of a tweed Bandmater that sounds really good for its size (about 20 watts). Surprising amount of bottom and lots of clarity...a sealed 4x8" with the right speakers might sound pretty good with 18 watters and similar amps.

This one was kind of weird because it has 4x8in 15watt classics and one 12in vintage 30 in the center. I figure the vintage 30 was there to give some bass.
