Mesa Boogie DC 2 combo

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with the Mesa DC 2 combo or any of the DC series amps. They seem pretty promising and have a lot of features I am looking for. If I pick up the combo, I think a 1x12 ext. cab would sound sweet with it.

I have heard some clips of the clean channels and they sound pretty great, how was the distortion hold up? More of a modern metal tone or somewhere in between a good modern/classic rock tone?

I had a DC-2 and I'm thinking of picking it up again for the harder rock stuff and for studio applications. It's a great little amp. Good second channel, and the clean channel is very good. I recommend it. They're HEAVY though!

and I also like that the poweramp is fited with 2 EL84s... I just dont like high gain 6l6 tones as much, atleast for rhythem.

I think I may just have to pull the trigger on one for $500 shipped, is that a good deal on one of these?

Those are nice. I like Mesa's EL84 amps very much.

I bought one when they first came out. I still own it all these years later. Great versatile combo.

You can get them cheaper than $500. If you're patient you can snag one in the $350-$400 range

Yeah I think I am going to wait and try and snag a DC 2 head or DC 3 head or cheap off ebay instead of being impatient.
