Because one sells 12 million records per year on average, and the other sells 19. :laugh2: Actually, the white flying V IS Michael Schenker's signature guitar.....it just doesn't have his name on it. Kinda like the Angus SG....they'll all an Angus signature guitar!

i agree with you on angus but not for schenker. he is known playing his B&W flying V kinda like zakk wylde with his bullseye les paul.

I'd have to say that between Dean and Gibson, the Dean is the better V. I think it looks sweet. My guess on price is $3000 list, about $1700 street....but just a guess.

Unfortunately, Schenker's image has taken a blow recently, with his drinking and his public fights with band members (on stage) killing any chance of a UFO reunion, which is why UFO now has nice guy/master shredder Vinnie Moore in the band. They just played Croc Rock in Allentown PA; a friend of mine was the promoter for that show, and he said UFO tore it up!!

I just saw UFO at BB King's in NYC and Vinnie was excellent, also got the new UFO with him on it and he does a fine job. He takes a lot of cues from Schenker's playing which is appropriate and respectful. I can't take anything away from him but I'd rather see Michael anyday as long as he's on an even keel (which doesn't seem to last for long periods of time unfortunately). I didn't get to see him when he played with Uli recently which killed me but I did see him last year and he smoked! He was in pretty good spirits and seemed sober but he still has a tendency towards being a flake, always has.

Dean can take a chance, they need some prominent endorsees. I am sure Gibson sees it as a crap shoot because of his personality and they just aren't going to deal with that.

He left the Scorpions to join UFO, which wasn't such a bad move..... but then he left UFO just as they were really hitting the big time. Doh! :smack:

That was a serious blow both to his career and to UFO's.

In my book UFO with Schenker has always been a better proposition than MSG or the Scorpions or UFO without Schenker, but Mad Mickey doesn't seem to be able to hold it together.

Scott, I have friends in Denmark that saw the Uli Roth/Schenker shows (they also write for metal mags), and they said Schenker was a mess!!

I'm a huge MSG fan, even when they attempted to go AOR.

However, Vinnie Moore will shred him into the ground any day of the week, and is much easier to deal with on a professional level, from everyone I know that's had contact with him. Too bad he's a DiMarzio endorsee!!
