my fave distortion- Vox Bulldog tube distortion

My fave 100 dollar or under distortion - Hardwire SC-2 or the Boss Metalzone(when tweaked right through a loud tube amp)

I had a Boss Metal Zone for years, until I bought a MXR Fullbore Metal. The MXR is a much more lively sounding pedal, which makes the Metal Zone sound very one dimensional. I ended up giving the Metal Zone to a friend.

I have not tried a Fullbore metal but from youtube clips it sounds very bright/fizzy but I guess that can be tweaked out with the EQ. I'd give it a shot if I was in the market for a good high gain pedal.

I played it for a half hour or so, and I would say it's anything but good.
