MIK Fender Strat???

Re: MIK Fender Strat???

For a period, in the late Eighties, guitars that we would expect to see branded as Squier were badged as Fender. The Teles of this period came with toploading bridge assemblies and no through stringing. Strats and Teles both came with a black plastic string guide with a metal roller section. The pickups on both models were utter cr@p.

Re: MIK Fender Strat???

I had one, although it was around '93. It had a large silver Fender logo, with a small "Squier Series" on the ball of the headstock. It was actually a pretty nice guitar, all things considered. I don't remember what the stock pups sounded like, though.

Enlarge and check out the serial number from the photos. Raises a red flag that the seller X's out the serial number in text, but displays it in a a photo. Also I don't see "Squier Series" anywhere on the headstock. Sounds fishy.

Re: MIK Fender Strat???

You can see the Squier Series logo has been scratched out on the headstock.

That's not Sonic Blue. Sonic blue is a whitish blue. It's also a little dark for Daphne blue.

I'm almost positive that they came with plain saddles, not Fender ones.

They are NOT collectors items. $200 max.

Yup. I remember those. Good guitars but not worth a lot.

I think that color was called Agave Blue, not 100% on that though.
