MockingBich

I saw a case on a local auction site ,to fit a BC Rich Mockingbird or Bich ,and it got me thinking of a hybrid so I made a sketch of the top half of the bird and the bottom of a bich ,looked kinda cool so I made a template ,If there is any love for this I will go ahead and make it - with build thread if anyone cares

ehhh...

I think I would've preferred the front half (upper + lower horn) of the mockingbird with the back half of the Bich. Or at least that was what I expected to see when I clicked on the thread.

Might work a little better using the tighter radius of the Mockingbird treble upper bout?

I searched for mockingbich and saw something similar to that so wanted a difference ,this combines my favourite parts of each shape

Thanks for the encouragement guys ,got the body blank made today,2 piece 250mmx50mm African Mahogany - centre joined
Then cut to rough shape on the bandsaw

Pretty cool. I think it would look better with the mockingbird 3x3 headstock than the inline 6 though. But it's your guitar! kewl.

Screwed on the template with strategically placed fasteners and made a couple of passes around before removing the template for another couple of passes then the final 10mm with the bottom bearing bit

Got a bit more done today,neck pocket routed ,trem cavities and recesses done, and neck attached
