MockingBich

Re: MockingBich

Can't wait! Gonna be awesome.

You know, there will be a "Build" category in the Ultimate Axe...

Gitt'er done!

Thanks Ace ,does it have to have an SD pickup in it ?,if so and someone from SD is watching ....................................

Re: MockingBich

Used the airbrush for outlining the edges ,I was going to go right aroung but it looked kinda cool when I had done it from one direction (no not that one direction:flush:) for a sort of shaded effect so for the opposite edges i just misted them, I'm not really that artistic so we will see what it looks like when the tape comes off

Re: MockingBich

That build is coming together nicely. I wasn't sure you would be able to get the mockingbird and bich shapes to work well together, but it is looking very nice!

Re: MockingBich

Dude, you are amazing with that router. BC Rich guitars have never been my thing, but that's a good 'un and I gotta say I really appreciate you documenting all the work. Bravo sir.

Re: MockingBich

Love, love, love it. Somehow I managed to miss the initial posting of this build and was going to comment "that shape sounds like a cool idea", only to find the thing has already been routed and painted. Beautiful work!!!

Re: MockingBich

Wow, and here you were worried how it'd look, well, AMAZING is one word that pops to my mind :D

Re: MockingBich

Sorry not much progress after a ripper start but I have the last coats of lacquer on, I liked the Dimebucker I had in another African Mahogany guitar I built so got one for this too. I don't like the small frets on the neck so I have ordered a 14" radius sanding block to clean up the board and level the new frets (anyone keen to see how I do a re-fret? if so i will post pics of this stage too) ,been a bit distracted by the beast on the left ,Neck thru 7 string - maple/mahogany body, rosewood fretboard with Padauk stripe

Re: MockingBich

No SD requirement for contest. It's always a nice touch, but a hot guitar is a hot guitar!

And that is HOT!!!!! I must, however, have strings...

A quality pic never hurts.

Go check out the Tele/Winner threads up top.

Re: MockingBich

Nice work.

But for the record, not wanting to pop bubbles or whizz in Wheaties, THIS is a bich, and the bottom half is, well, decidedly different from what you`ve created. I see the nod to it with the "hook", but many people think that only the 10 strings have the large cutout when in fact they all do.

Cheers :)

*edit* Ehm, forget most of that, I now get what you did, I thought you were going for a Bird`s horns and cutaway and a Bich`s butt ;)

Re: MockingBich

I'm not much of a fan of BC Rich style guitars but I have to say i'd play the hell out of that. Nice job.
