Hlubek was a hot, hot guitar player when Hatchet came out. A flat out smoker, I still love the first 2 albums. Their version of Dreams is so great I'll sound stupid talking about it.

.

+1, that version is beyond great. I like to joke that U2 got their sound from that song!

They're (Deuce VT series) pretty cheap (@ $200 average) so long as no one kids you into believing that they are vintage amps in high demand. Great clean sound; built in Phaser for classic "leslie" tones-- the overdrive is fine if you don't go past 9 on the gain--past that it sounds like a Marshall that has no direction. Actually a very good lead tone once you have your gear set up correctly for it.

2 summers ago i went to see the SOUTHERN ROCK ALLSTARS (SRA) at the time DAVE HLUBEC, had just been replaced by DUANE ROLAND (DR) after hearing SRA play skynard, blackfoot, & hatchet tunes all night(yea it was great) i got a chance to talk to (DR)& heard a very sad story about about the end of hatchet & DR $$ the only thing he had left was one guitar that HAMER gave him. THE IRS took his house & $$ in fact he had just made the last payments to IRS(IT took years) seem they had acountants(sic) that was not paying the taxes , & M Hachet wasn't aware till IRS knocked on (DR) door any way, (MH ) spent bunch of $$ trying to track down the AcountCROOKS to no avail. (DR) also told me that when danny joe brown (vocals.). DJBwas in the hospitol in bad shape, bobby ingrams (gtr in present (M H) helped DJB & ended up BUYING the MOLLY HATCHET BANDS NAME.. OH & BTW the SRA band was traveling in a early 80s 1 ton (small) camper that would barely hold 6 people sitting down, a far cry from MHB 2x tour bus's that cost over a $$ MILLION each .. but these guys were still happy to be playing.. .this is a true story as told to me , MOLLY HATCHET is one of my fav bands, even named our band (1980)after one of there songs ----BOUNTY HUNTER---
