As for the thread title, I think it's accurate. Most guys are using digital delays. Doesn't necessarily make it better but it does explain why a big box retailer wouldn't carry a lot of analog units. If you want something that's outside of what the big box stores think players want, you'll need to shop someplace else. The alternative is to go Tom Morello and decide you'll just go with what you've got.
Never owned an analog delay. Got my first digital unit in 1985 (still have it) and never felt like I was missing out by not owning analog stuff.But, to be fair, I have played lots of delays, and my favorite one so far is the [cold, lifeless, modern, gimmicky, non-traditional, computerized] Line 6 Echo Park. Whaddyagonnado - it sounds the best.
