Most of you guys have it all wrong

why in the name of the lord are you using the wrong colored guitar for the gig? the next time I see someone use a RED guitar in a lounge setting I am going to kill them. EVERYBODY KNOWS that a blue guitar sounds better for playing any 12 bar lick! GOSH!

What colors is everyone using these days?! I think Blue besides being best for 12 bar, is the most versatile color and the tone is just magical

If I ever so much as get close to playing guitar "in a lounge setting", please kill me. Dying this way would be preferable to dying of shame.

It's a noble cause when you're being paid well and trolling for strange. Or so I've heard.

Re: Most of you guys have it all wrong

how do your bursts sound? I bet they open up or even explode with an OD pedal

I actually don't use pedals recently, other than a Fuzz Face or Fulltone Wah on occasion. I usually explode straight into Marshalls or my Hiwatt. :)

Sorry, I could have answered your question better. The Tele is all Seymour Antiquities, so it gets me from twang to bluesy raunch as needed. Great tone all around. The Les Paul is stock, but it's 20 years old now and sounds very even when switching between the pickups (when I bought it, both pickups sounded hotter and farther apart in tone) It falls in the Bluesbreaker vein of things, can do 70's rock well, but doesn't work for metal or heavy sounds.

Re: Most of you guys have it all wrong

I thought you were supposed to use a 12 string for 12 bars.

Re: Most of you guys have it all wrong

blue guitars are for playing blues.
reds or purples are for if you're playing to a bunch of winos.
transparent/natural finish or clear acrylic for straightedge kids.
black for metal (obviously)
green for hippies.
pink is for pubescent teenage girls
white is for...well use your imagination

Re: Most of you guys have it all wrong

black guitars would be great if there weren't so dark sounding...if I go black I want tele pups

Re: Most of you guys have it all wrong

Red guitars are too hot. anyone with a red guitar best put low output pups in'em

I must have been out when the memo came. I play blues and classic rock, and most of my guitars are black, red, white, natural, honeyburst, or amber. Sorry, no blue or green ones.
