Re: Most under-rated guitar company

definitely schecters... they're amazing guitars for amazing prices... just try the C-1 plus hahaha amazing...

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I voted jackson but honestly i feel that parker and rickenbacker are the most underated brands.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Ive gotta say jackson, i dont usually pick up a jackson that doesnt feel great and my jackson (which is a cheap japanese ps2) is absolutely amazing! Everyone that picks it up loves it, as do I!

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Having said that though, i dont know if jackson are "underrated", i think a lot of people actually know they are quite good guitars.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

SCHECTER! I'd actually put their build quality a notch above LTD. Their guitars are so solidly built- a real bargain for the money. How they can provide such quality instruments at such ridiculously low prices is beyond me. I am considering having a custom shop in the near future- I'm THAT impressed!

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Epiphone, hands down. Like Indie said, a lot of the cheaper models are GARBAGE. However, when you get your hands on a LP Standard+, you got a great guitar. Some people just won't accept it.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

lol - I'd vote for it if it was up there - Carvin to me is the most underrated guitar company - they may have an Avon like approach, but I'd dare anyone to pick up one of their guitars and say it wasn't one of the most solidly built guitars for the money.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I was actually looking for Carvin on the list - I agree they are top notch. I voted for Hamer though - IMHO they do gibson better than gibson, I am referring to the USA models - I was not as impressed with a korean (I think) made one.
I considered Schecter - I have two of them - a USA Tele and a Korean C-1 classic and wow to both - the USA one has a better feel to me but I wouldn't get rid of either, the Korean one is full of quality including SD pups - JB/Jazz combo. Anyway I didn't vote for them because I feel as though they are starting to get there due.
I would also agree with the votes going to G&L although I am not convinced that they are not getting over priced.
Peavey USA models rock as well, great feeling necks - I don't have any experience with the others

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Depends on who you are talking about views them as 'under-rated'. IF we are talking fairly novice players, then without doubt I would say Hamer...

However most experienced players know the quality of the USA Hamer stuff and therefore it isn't under rated...

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

GMP makes the finest guitars I have ever played... I have owned over 200 guitars... they are the BOMB!

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

music man!!!

very nice guitars, and not tooooo many ppl use em

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Had a chance to check out the Reverend line at their booth at a guitar show last week ....sweet ! Nice feel, great tone ... but I look at the construction and keep flashing back to old Danelectros. I know that Reverends are well made...that their design is splendid ...that the guitar in my hands was a tone machine ...

...but the fact that the line starts at $500 for plastic wrapped around birch ... I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around it. Call it the limits of my own imagination.

My vote goes to Peavey at this time. If I get my hands on the new G&L overseas line for a test drive, that could change.
