Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Musicman from that list. Really well made guitars.

I'd like to try the reverend guitars.

I went with Epiphone. I know, some of the stuff is pure rubbish, but other stuff they make is sheer awsome-ness. If you play around and don't go super-cheap, you won't be sorry.
I tend to agree. I have a G-400 that I bought used but in MINT condition for $200. For the price I paid I think its a great guitar, brand new these go for upwards to $400 now, which I think is a bit pricey for that particular guitar. However their LP's have improved in the past couple years. I played one a few months back and I liked everything from the way it felt all the way down to the pickups.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I picked Hamer because the other choice do get enough praise around here.

EDWARDS, though is soo ****ing awesome with quality versus price. I need to buy one before they figure out they are charging way too low.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I'm the one freak who voted for Framus (new ones). Great woods, quality and design

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

G&L from this list, with Music Man a close second.

Others: Heritage (just look left ;) ). Also, Brian Moore's combine a lot of innovative thought, ergonomics, and craftsmanship into really nice packages.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I'd have to say Schecter. Every single one I've held/played/owned has been solid with great feel and tone. Of course I may be biased... :burnout:

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Aside from the "Big 3" (Gibson, Fender, PRS), all of the ones listed are under-rated.

BUT my vote goes to MIM Fenders. I personally think they're the most under-rated guitar out there. Great quality at a fair price. :bigok:

My little Dillion Goldtop is pretty damn sweet too....but the SD P-90s might have a lil' something to do with that!!!

Just one word:

HAMER

Amen to that. I Played a $600 CDN double cutaway flametop Hamer archtop(Japan Model) and I was totally blown away. The thing came with Duncan Designed pups stock, has a great neck, awesome tone, and prestine fit and finish. I would take Hamer over Gibson anyday. If Hamer's cheap Japan Models are that nice, I would like to get my hands on a USA made Hamer. :32:

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Not in list, my vote would go for mid- and hi-range Deans. For the price, there I could not find better made guitars.

Most definitely, there is the truth. These brands make THE herd-leader axes so after them everyone is underrated. However, in my opinion none of the listed ones are really that underrated. They all have their own good slice of cake and fame. Perhaps, from this group Epiphone and Fernandes have the worst reputation because of their super-cost-effective axes but I think it doesn't appear in their sales...

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I'd vote Godin, as they offer a range of excellent guitars at various price points, including some fine instruments with a fine gig bag for less than $400 -- all of them made in North America for a refreshing change of pace (i.e., not Korean at the low end and MIA at the high end). I also agree that the MiM Fenders are underrated. After high hopes, I have been less impressed than I expected with the G&L models -- very good quality and some cool hardware and electronics, but those necks just don't fit me at all. So to me, the G&L's are actually overrated.

Wait till you get your hands on a USA made Hamer and it will blow your socks off :saeek: . Whilst not knocking the Japan/Korean models the USA models have beter quality and woods. You could change out the pups in your guitar and get some proper SD's in them - try the Seth Lovers or Customs in them.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Most underrated that I could think of was Washburn. I'm not terribly familiar with their products these days, but I own an early 80's Falcon from their wing series. It was impeccably made, state of the art (for the time) electronics, brass nut (which I got rid of, but that was the fashion then) & saddles, just really top notch workmanship. They've been in business longer than Fender and just never really quite caught on.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Gotta throw Agile into the mix fella's! Excellent for the $$ and downright sweet with a set of SD pup's!
