Re: Most under-rated guitar company

nah, somebody musta done something cause it was floating near the top, i usually dont dig past the first page or two.

i was just discussing this with a over zealous gibson fan who wont concede that anyone else knows how to make a guitar :smack:

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I don't know if this has been brought up (I ain't reading 5 pages to find out ;)) but you left out Godin...

My vote would go to them....

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Well, underrated really means rated below what they should be, and in that case it would have to be B.C. Rich for me. Schecter and all of them aren't as talked about as much as the bigger companies, but they are always receiving praise, so they definitely aren't underrated. B.C. Rich is always underrated because people look at the shapes and/or just the Bronze series. Their higher end guitars are amazing!

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I played their (BC Rich's) "normally shaped" guitar at Guitar Center, it was used and listed as like 300 bucks...it sounded and played so well, I was amazed...it was just sick.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

This thread is older than me. which amuses me

I change my vote from schecter to squier

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Maybe this is the wrong question, but IMHO, teh best guitars that most don't know about are Zions- I have never met someone who has played one and didn't like it-

Next would be Andersons

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I voted Hamer...but one of the best Strats I ever played was made by James Tyler.

Tyler guitars are fabulously resonant and great playing guitars.

Collings are the best acoustic guitars in a Martin vein that I have played.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I didn't vote for anything because Heritage isn't up there. This is a littl call for the gibson lover in all of us, Heritage guitars are the woods, quality construction, tone, and vibe that we all love about the old world gibby's only avaliable without the vintage pricetag. Go check these babies out at your nearest dealer, I'll admit though, that's the trickiest part since they don't have that many dealers. The closest one to where I live is a 7 hour drive, please don't let discourage anyone here.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Oh yeah, if you're interested in a heritage after reading other posts in the thread....buy mine in the trading post

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I voted for ESP, but I really meant the LTD line. Everyone bashes the LTD stuff but I think ESP/LTD has some of the best offerings for the buck. The high end ESP/LTD stuff comes with SD or EMG pups, TonePros bridges and tailpieces, Orig floyd rose trems, earvana nuts, set or thru-body necks, etc, etc. I think the ESP/LTD line is seriously underrated, only becuz alot of their stuff is jackson copies. Jackson doesn't seem to offer all the same goodies as ESP/LTD does. I'll admit I've never played a jackson, but after being so pleased with the ESP/LTD stuff, I just stuck with ESP/LTD.

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I´m not sure how a guitar like Schecter, ESP or Hamer could be considered underrated, seeing as they have a massive fanbase and there´s ALWAYS somebody ranting on about how badass they are, not just here...... ;)

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

i'd say all of those listed are pretty much WELL above radar

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

I'm saying shecter 'cos i have on and once I'm done sanding/finishing/installing pups its gonna be the sweetest geetar on the block. So suck on that for a while.:censored:

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

The fact that Music Mans aren't more popular seems weird to me because their guitars are nothing less than Custom Shop quality and the instruments themselves feel and sound like you wish certain other guitars did, but rarely do. ;)

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

Godin for sure, they make good value guitars. cept for the plastic tuners:ugh1:
I discovered ibanez actualy sell some nice acoustics, i was playing a pretty weird design today, it was probably the most playable acoustic i've ever touched, i normaly can't play acoustics very well, but this was probably the best sounding acoustic in the entire shop and defiantly the easiest to play. I could do Iron maiden solos doen at the 18th fret and everythin. So Ibanez for acoustics cause they've made the only acoustic ive ever played thats easy to play (for me)

Re: Most under-rated guitar company

washburn
washburn idol is the best paulish design ever! better than PRS singlecut
X33 is the best stratish design ever and there is x50 and x40.
