MXR Phase 45, 90 & 100?

Re: MXR Phase 45, 90 & 100?

thanks :fing2:

it would be cool to adjust 'that' degree on the fly

Re: MXR Phase 45, 90 & 100?

They are all cool and have their place. I've had one of each since the mid 1980's. I still prefer the phase 90.

Re: MXR Phase 45, 90 & 100?

I really am Phase torn.

I want a 45 for my blues pedal lineup for a little something extra
I want a 90 just cuz I liked it back in the day
I want an EVH for both sounds, and it does seem to be the one to have if you are only having one
I want one to paint the box with my own pattern - a script type sound

Re: MXR Phase 45, 90 & 100?

For a Phase 90 sound, I like the Whirlwind Orange Box, it's the original Phase 90 circuit with added LED and true bypass.
I also have a Dunlop MXR Custom Shop Phase 45, it's more like a Univibe sound, in some ways I like it even better than a Phase 90. I only wish Whirlwind would put out their version of the Phase 45 with the LED and TB, as the Dunlop MXR pedal doesn't have those features, they are just like the original versions. Both I find very useful for different sounds.

A phase 45 for cleans is hard to beat and can be down right funky. Phase 90s with some dirt... Epic in a different but awesome way.

Re: MXR Phase 45, 90 & 100?

Love 'em all. These all date from mid 70's to 80. The Phase 100 is still my favourite, but I love what the 45 does.

Cheers.................................. wahwah

Re: MXR Phase 45, 90 & 100?

Them's some road worn pedals Geoff!

I liked my 90 in the late 80s. Only used it on a few songs, but it was the only pedal I had between my Strat and my Marshall then.

Re: MXR Phase 45, 90 & 100?

What does that knob on the Phase 100 do? Depth????
The switch has 4 settings that changing feedback and Depth. It goes low depth low feedback, high depth low feedback, low depth high feedback, high depth high feedback. The other of course is rate. The phase 100 is actually a 6 Stage phaser from what i can gather (rather then a Phase 90 with more options as some people think) and sounds a bit different to a 4 stage phaser.

Re: MXR Phase 45, 90 & 100?

If that were true, the Phase 100 should be called the Phase 135, no?

Phase 45: 2 stages
Phase 90: 4 stages
Phase 100: 6 stages

Ahhh. Now I see, says the blind man.

I want a stylin' 2 Stage for my tone / blues stuff. And a subtle 4 for my metal stuff.
