My amp is fine guys!

I took my amp to a tech and he looked it over for free, he said its normal not to be able to see one of the preamp tubes lighting up, he said its probably just at an angle and you cant see it glowing, but it is.


Its actually very loud, Im just nearly sitting on top of it so the sound projection isnt very good.



My roland cube 60 is still louder, but this thing can get pretty dang loud, its just loud as far as being able to fill a large area, and that must be a myth about needing to crank em for em to sound good, this thing can wisper with the same tone as when its cranked.


Its a great amp, my pilot light still isnt working but a peavey dealership will take care of that for me.



Neat trick they showed me too, if a tube is bad, 1 of the knobs wont work. And all my knobs work.

I see no way in hell a roland cube 60 with 1 12" speaker would be louder than a Peavey Classic 50 2X12"

60 watt solid state vs. 50 watts tube, doesn't make sense to me.

Cool you got that sorted out... strange the pilot light does not work.. I opened my Classic 30 combo and it has almost nothing inside it.... There really is not much to these amps.... I have been inside my Classic 50 head and it has bigger transformers and stuff... I need to retube my Classic amps......

It all depends on voltage, if an amp has a higher voltage output it will be louder.

the Peavey should be much louder than the Roland....still seems something isn't right

If an amp tech who is ceritfyed by peavey says my amp is fine after he has sat and played it, then it must obviously be.


That roland is just un-believeably loud.
And its speaker design is far different than the peavey.


the peavey can fill a room with ease when the cube craps out, but the cube can blow your eardrums up close and the peavey would be loud but not painful.

I think different Freq's effect how we hear volume.... My Marshall JCM 800 hurts my ears.... It is a 50 watter and it seems to be on that right range to hurt at high volume... My 5150 sounds great and does not hurt my ears that much. My Classic 50 and Classic 30 are loud but don't hurt as much as this Marshall does.... I really feel there must be a freq range that feels louder then others that effects some amps volume...
