It was meant in fun and think he knows it. I'm glad to see someone have so much energy here and go where he wants rather than follow the herd. Just dont tell me the herd is wrong just because:chairfall Low blow.
hahaha we need to tear these walls DOWN. Let's forget about our difference...Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazzoblaster or jizzmaster, we're all just players man!
Ehh... after nearly 12 years of playing, I've never played one that made me a believer. Just not my style. I'm more of a bucker guy and gibby style guitars do that better in my opinion.
Another vote for Gibson! No other company can match their innovations and variety: the LP, 335, SG, 175, Flying V, etc. Best designs, best tones. Seems like the average Strat buyer is on auto-pilot, making the purchase "because everyone else has a Strat" or because "They look cool" and winds up taking home a tinny-sounding guitar that looks like a high-school shop project. Some of them (not all) just don't think through their guitar-selection. No argument; there are guys that make a Strat sing (Hendrix, Blackmore, Healey, Montoya, and sometimes Clapton), but there are legions that can't figure out how to get them so they don't sound so thin & trebley. To my ears, they inherently make a distinctive aluminum-sounding clanging ("Strat quack"). Maybe its all the abusers that have soured me on them. In the right hands, they're great. Just not enough of those hands to go around. Besides, there's nothing like going to a blues jam with a 335 (while everyone else has a Strat or Tele), and clearly having the best-sounding guitar in the place. Like a Strat-playing friend once told me "Its too easy to get a good tone with humbuckers."
It's like saying, "Philip's head screwdrivers are sooo much more effective than flatheads..."
You talking to me Empty, about my sigle coil/bucker comment?
...but........they are.
I can't think of a single situation where a flat head screw is used that wouldn't be improved by using a Phillips instead.
Just the Gibson / Fender argument...while we're at it, the Marshall / Fender argument, the Xbox / Playstation arguement, hot dog / cheeseburger argument too.
They're all GOOD, we don't have to fight about it.:friday:
Who argues about hot dogs/hamburgers? Everyone knows hamburgers are about 100 times better.
