My Charvel restoration

Re: My Charvel restoration

That is one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. Kudos, man!

Re: My Charvel restoration

Ayrton, looks like you did an excellent job! That thing looks grate!

Re: My Charvel restoration

Thank you for saving that guitar!

Mine is just about exactly like it except its trans red and I never replaced the original trem with a floyd. I thinks mine weighs more than 9.5 lbs though. They do sound great for hard rock lead. Another thing, no other neck plays like these.

Re: My Charvel restoration

Additionally, mine only ever had 21 frets. I don't recall 81s and 82s having 22 fret necks. That might be something else rather than shaving off a 22nd fret there. Mine also has a painted headstock, the same color as the body. It looks like that yours originally had one too.

The build number on the neck falls into '83, and it definitely had 22 frets at some point. Who knows what happened in all the years that have past.

I think I might have said 8.5 pounds at some point, but I actually weighted the guitar in the beginning of this thread and it is 9.5 pounds.

I still play the guitar daily and don't see me ever parting with it.

Re: My Charvel restoration

Dont post a pic of that guitar now again dammit! I just put on a brand new fresh pair of BVD's.

I'll never part with mine either. I just weighed it and it's also 9.5 lbs. Its mainly the weight that I don't play it all the time anymore-unless I'm sitting. But if I'm Rokken with Dokken or something I play it. Even I can shred on it.

Re: My Charvel restoration

As soon as can figure out to get the posted picture to not display so huge. I included a photo in my last post, but it was gigantic so I edited it out.
