Yeah I saw a nice pink one at a shop in El Paso, same set-up as mine, had a ding in the finish just like mine too, they wanted like $550... Yeah, I think that is a little much.
I traded my H/H Deluxe Series MIM strat plus a little cash for this one, so to me that's a pretty good deal.
The reason Fender came out with that model is because for a few years in the mid/late 80's, Ibanez was kicking their butt. Ibanez guitars were flying off the shelves while strats weren't. So Fender came out with a similar guitar. I think they made a mistake by producing so many in turquoise and pink. They probably would have been a huge hit if they'd made them in white, black, silver, dark blue, and candy red.
my buddy's HM Strat with two humbuckers was the inspiration for my white Warmoth...I got tired of waiting for an HM on eBay and decided I wanted a hardtail anyway so i built my own...

I used to be a big fan of hardtails, but I'm glad I went back to a Floyd Rose type bridge. I set it up myself, surprisingly fast, and I'm loving how it stays intune even after hours of play and some bada~~ divebombs.
