Like the non traditional approach.

I think Les Paul himself was anything BUT a traditionalist. Truth be told, I can imagine him being a bit disappointed at how people try so hard to faithfully reproduce his designs. I could see him standing up and applauding the originality and desire to evolve and improve on his ideas as shown by these creations.

That was 4.5 years ago... My mistake was to see it as a 'hey guys look at this great deal! Snag it while you can!' Whereas the intention was more like 'hey guys look at this great deal: should I snag it while I can?'. I didn't read the thread properly, totally misunderstood the intent and got flack for it. Deserved, at the time, but now, I am kinda pushing towards '**** that **** and let's forget about it' cause I think I aided and contributed more than plenty over the last years to compensate for that misheap.

@ace: haha oh well. I never was under the impression I could satisfy EVERYBODY with this group. Even so, 6 out of 9 is imho a pretty good score. (You might like one of the other strats I made, I'll post pics later ).

@btmn you can say that again! working on 3 LP's for myself right now, and I have another 12 here that I build myself.

Ignore Ace's comments about the shapes - he's a big fan of Leo and Les and doesn't like anything that isn't a clone of someone else's hard work.

Walnut top on an experimental back (hard makore core with 2 ultralightweight korina wings. Flamed maple neck, 'leopard skin' ebony neck. Gotoh trem, kluson tuners, walnut back-plates, 1piece flamed maple pickguard and ssl1 pickups.

Oh, I'll switch out these pups for the Fury's PLUS a hotrail under the pg (got a lil59 there right now, hence the toggle).

Is it a TRUE copy? No. It's a test bed for new techniques. But it's as close as possible from what I made.
