That's probably one of the first things I'd have done too. Did you check the tubes after transit? Maybe they're loose?
The little Mig60 that me and a buddy have passed back and forth for years has been run on 10 on a regular basis since 1996. My brother used to run his Univox wide open. We've also run our Butchers wide open quite a bit. Never had a problem. Must be lucky, I guess.
I can't imagine a band practice with either of my amps at 4, lol.

i dont know it this is relevant, but i had a Yamaha PA system. If it was getting pushed too hard, it would shut down the powere section long enough to cool down, then turn back on again once it was back to normal operating temerature.
Perhaps your amp has some kind of similar safety circuit?

You got it from M.F. Send it back NOW. It won't cost you anything except your time and trouble. They'll try and offer you a resolution, but with a new Amp, you need something that works 100% right out of the box. Get another one in exchange that works properly. You arent going to hurt their feelings.

+1. I've never played any of my amps on 10, and always keep the gain under 5. When you push stuff you find out its limits. That can be good, or...

I never run mine further than minus 10001010100001, remember it is 2012....and it has autotune
Anyways...check your home for the assorted variety of voodoodolls.....

Id hate to see you spend muchmore money on this, but the best $ spent WOULD be to send it back for a new one. Dont settle for going from a bassman to a broken JetCity. I really love them: great sharp cleans but not sparkly or shrieky- ripping tight mids- just needs more ribrattle in the bass, but def a plug n play for distortion tone... And other than jetcity, Blackstar& Orange, i dont know any usable distortion in combos under 50w.
I left a GC w out buying one for $199 the other day... With a stomach ache. There was also a Blackstar 20w for $349... Thats the discipline (or poor decision making)..

I've had my hands in a lot of amps over the years so I can say with absolute certainty that if an amp cuts out, blows fuses, hiccups or just generally falls flat on its face when cranked, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE AMP OR THE WAY IT IS SET UP. Nothing leaves my shop without being tested at full volume, even if the setup was optimized for a lower volume that the owner actually plays at.
Personally, it sounds like a bad solder joint BUT, since it's a new amp, THAT AIN'T YOUR PROBLEM! It's MF's problem and they need to make it right.
