Be careful what you ask for Brother, you may get it.

You wouldn't want me to lie & tell you what a great amp it is when i don't believe that would you ?

Nope, not at all but I think Darg went about it the right way.

You are not the only person who feels the quality of these amps is not great, hell for the price of it I know that part.

As I said before it is for fun and to play with and some of the videos I have watched on it, it has a very good sound that intrigues me.

Hell, just the PT, OT and choke I purchased for my 50 watt Plexi clone from Metro costed more than this amp, so I did go into this knowing what I was buying so I am not worried about resell value or anything.

That you would not want to hear as I am very new to playing since I had to take off close to two years for medical reasons. I would not even be able to make your amp sound good.

Sorry if a offended you. Speedy recovery.

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

We had one of those Bugera half-stacks in the rehearsal studio we rented. I would use it when I was too lazy or too much in a rush to bring my Marshall. The Bugera always delivered. I got a close enough for horseshoes Marshall tone out of it, and it was loud enough to cut through the bass and drums. I had no issues playing the amp what-so-ever, I enjoyed playing it.

Good luck with your amp I hope it gives you years of enjoyment.

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

love mine almost 4 years old in Feb DSL 40, 1960 amp is pretty solid A guy on TGP had his for years now I was tempted to get one they sound great.

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

I suppose in the grand scheme of things a Bugera would have been better than my first amp in 1972', but in 2018 we got lots good choices for music gear.

On a serious note Molex connections on Bugeras have been known to cause fires and not kidding about that.

that was like a 2009 or 10 issue they fixed

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

My friend gigged one for a while. He ended up getting a real 1959 which is his main gigging amp now, but the Bugera sounded pretty good when he had it. Hope it treats you well!

(I almost bought the non infineum version when they were on clearance for like $200, but then I thought “what the hell am I going to do with a Plexi clone?!? I need an 18W, not a 100W-150W amp.

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

I have a Bugera 1960 without the infinium tube monitoring. Bought it used about two years ago. I play it quite a bit and have had zero problems with it. The cleans are really nice and it has that plexi sound when you crank it up. Takes pedals well and sounds good with a reverb pedal in the loop. Build quality is similar to other amps built in the Far East by Marshall,Peavey, Blackstar, etc. If you want more rugged build quality the price goes to another level. It’s all relative. Enjoy the 1960.

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

I have heard that but you can look at any product be it Marshall, Gibson etc and see the failures also.

This is some of the most hilarious logic I have ever read on a gear forum.

You even say that you picked it up because it was fun and cheap? Why do you insist that people pretend the components and build are higher quality than they actually are? There is nothing wrong with cheap gear, but if you really think that there is no difference between a Bugera and a Marshall because Marshalls sometimes have mechanical failure is genuinely ridiculous.

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

Never asked anyone to pretend a damn thing.

But if you think all Marshall products (talking different lines) do not fail maybe you head over to the Marshall forum.

Do I think they are the same quality, not at all, but it sure is funny to me that both manufacturers are having their amps (not all Marshall’s) are being made in Asia and with that low cost components. And if you cannot see that than get your dam head out of the sand. So tired of people like you.

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

Well house gear and road gear are different things

If it sets in the corner of the bedroom, and the toughest trial it has is the occasional feather duster
It doesn't have to be built like a tank

Is it good to be tankish, of course
But not in a house amp

My Peavey Vip2 sounds great
It is so light and flimsy feeling
The plastic corner caps have broken off just moving it around to sweep
Would it be a rugged road warrior? No
Does it work great around the house? Oh yea

Dude
Enjoy you amp
Wind it up and give us a good honest review in a few weeks

I am dying to hear your opinion

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

Nothing wrong with Bugera's.... I've had my 333XL Infinium for 5 years now & zero problems. Gig regularly with it, record with it ..It's been solid as a rock :bigthumb:

Can't complain about the tone either :D

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

OP: there's a trick to making Bugeras sound good... NO bugera speakers, and preferably no bugera cabs/chassis

Using that for the Rhythm guitar, the Lead, or both on this?

Re: NAD Bugera 1960 Infinium

The rhythm is two tracks (one with each of the 333XL's lead channels) panned L-R straight out of the amp.

The first half of the solo is just the amp again (+ onboard reverb). The second half has a Mooer Pitchbox (harmonizer) in the loop as well.

I have a Bugera cab (2x12) with the stock Bugera speakers. Whatever their V30 version is. That cab sounds REALLY good. I can’t speak to any of their other speakers/cabs but there’s nothing wrong with mine.
