NAD: Fender Hot Rod DeVille 212 (Full Review)

Re: NAD: Fender Hot Rod DeVille 212 (Full Review)

All that said, I am really happy with the Strat tones, the 335 tones, the Tele tones, and the P90 tones I am getting.

It's kind of like "DUH! Of course you needed a big Fender tube amp!" now that I'm on the other side.

Haha, they do sound a lot alike!

I wonder if JM "borrowed" it, if you know what I mean ;)

i think the vibe is different enough?

i just liked it cause you could start one song and sorta morph into the other

like 'poor little fool' into 'dyer maker' or 'girls on film' into 'all right now'

i know, i hijack....

Yeah, the songs are different enough

Of all the the things I like about the new amp, it's that I am getting new tones that remind me of the classic tones that are my favorites, and causing me to riff on stuff and learn new stuff.

Just last night, I stumbled upon the riff from "Lights" by Journey, and taught it to myself.

That is what I'm enjoying the most --- hearing tones that remind me of a riff, and venturing out and expanding my vocabulary. That is how all new gear purchases should be, in my opinion.

thats sweet! i LOVE it when that happens, especially when you're playing it trying to remember what it is
