NAD!! Peavey Classic 30!

So in reading a thread on another forum, I got immediate gas for one. Being I live in Peavey Mecca here in the MS Delta, I figured there would be a few on CL! So I looked yesterday and found one dated back in March about 15 minutes from my house. Peavey Classic 30 for 150 bucks. It's the older Peavey font logo tweed. I figured he might have sold it already. Called him up and he still had it!! So I just picked it up less than an hour ago! Extremely clean amp. The leather handle has cracked but that's okay. Plays well and sounds great!! Definitely a keeper for my small gigs!!

It's got one 12" speaker. I'm assuming a peavey speaker, but it has no label. It has 3 12ax7 and 4 el34 tubes. Gotta get a tube tamer. Tube rattle was notorious for these. But otherwise it pretty nice!

It's got one 12" speaker. I'm assuming a peavey speaker, but it has no label. It has 3 12ax7 and 4 el34 tubes. Gotta get a tube tamer. Tube rattle was notorious for these. But otherwise it pretty nice!

EL34's or EL84's?

That's a super deal! I'd have snapped it up in a heartbeat and dealt with the notorius rattle. I understand it is correctable.

I've always heard those are really sweet amps, and that one is a great find - really good price on it.

I'm loving it so far. But I definitely hear the tube rattle. I ordered a tube tamer and I'm gonna order either a Vet30 or ET65, or a CRex to drop in it. Definitely gonna be nice to run a small combo for my smaller gigs!! But overall it's quite nice!!! Glad I picked it up!!!

Great price, and those Classic 30's often sound better than similar Fenders.

I'd retube it with JJ EL-84's. The tube rattle may get solved just by that.
