NAD: This is off the beaten path

I just got the UPS notification my new amp hits the house at any minute. The only thing I can say is "And now for something completely different". 3 channels, 45 watts and a boomy 10 inch speaker. I will post picks when I get home, for now I will just leave you wondering.

3 channels at 45 watts...

Mesa Nomad 45?

Carvin V3 micro?

The 10" speaker is throwing me off.

So way off base. None of you will nail it so you may as well wait until I get home

Re: NAD: This is off the beaten path

You bastard you got it. I got a $50 gift certificate to Guitar Center from my best friend for my birthday. I needed a keyboard amp simply because I have been using my Peavey PA100 as a keyboard amp for years and it just takes up too much room in the office. So I was looking around for one of those little 10 watt keyboard amps that I could keep in the office and found this thing. It is powerful enough not only for my keyboards but I can also use it for my guitar synth, acoustic or my talkbox without needing to drag the Peavey with me. It is a hybrid PA/keyboard amp as I said 45 watts (good enough for most rooms), 3 channels, XLR in (perfect for the talkbox mic) and has a ton of built in effects and EQ for my acoustic gigs.

I have always been down on Behringer but all of the reviews on this thing were dynamite. Plus I am looking to use it for a clean neutral tone, if the built in effects are decent that will be a bonus for acoustic gigs and jams. I saw them going used for $99 - $150 and this one was sitting at a GC in Fla used for $49.99 with free shipping. I figured I can't go wrong why not. I did read the delivery email wrong I wont be getting it until tomorrow.

  • Ultra-flexible 45-Watt 3-channel PA system / keyboard amplifier
  • Powerful 10'' BUGERA speaker for ultimate sound reproduction
  • Integrated digital FX processor with 100 awesome presets including reverb, chorus, flanger, delay, pitch shifter and various multi-effects
  • Revolutionary FBQ Feedback Detection system instantly reveals critical frequencies
  • Full 3-channel operation with separate Volume and FX Send per channel
  • Additional XLR mic input on Channel 1 for direct connection of dynamic microphones

I was thinking the same thing about it crapping the bed in two days. I got my fingers crossed don't screw me Behringer. I am really getting pumped to run my mandolin through it. The amp has an octave drop I am hoping to get a mandocello type of vibe out of it. Like I said I am mainly looking to have something smaller in the office for my keys. If I get a decent acoustic amp and a PA for the talkbox out of the deal I am a happy man. The five band EQ and reverb/chorus hopefully will allow me to dial in a decent acoustic tone.

If it does crap out, you always have your FM212 to fall back on.

This is what all the hoopla is about? Ok, now, soundclips.

If it's any reassurance..my Hellbabe wah's still working fine a couple of months down the line :laugh2:

Re: NAD: This is off the beaten path

Dude that was the only amp that came up in my search WTF ? It said PA so I ignored it geez it was the right guess ! Get a stick and hit me in the head a few times please?

Re: NAD: This is off the beaten path

OK you cork-sniffers can bash me all you want for buying a Behringer but this thing sounds awesome. The best $50 I have ever spent. I played the acoustic through it, it was a bit boomy but I haven't played with the eq yet. The onboard effects are subtle and pretty good. I cant wait to plug my keys into it. Mostly the thing cranks. I was looking for a keyboard amp and ended up with a decent acoustic amp I am psyched.

Kudos to GC. I thought for $50 this thing would be beat to crap and have issues and it looks brand new.
