New Authentic Guitar Day! LOLOLOL

So I sold my Epiphone Les Paul Custom, and put the funds towards an actual Gibson. I've always dreamed of having an R0, and this is one step closer to my dream guitar.

It's very comfy. The neck profile is pretty similar to my Epiphone 1959. Perhaps a bit more rounded, but just a little.

It sounds very lively acoustically. Very bright and snappy and very loud!

I'm in love. I'm swapping out the pickups, though. If this came with the 498T, I wouldn't. But the 490T is really weak and puny. Not a fan. I've got a spare Black Winter and Super 2 that I'll be dropping in there!

The neck has some nice figuring to it!

I love it. The neck might be based on the '57 or '58 profile. It is a little rounder, but the benefit in sustain is well worth the thickness. Plus, in a week or so you will not even notice the difference. Enjoy!

Super 2 and Black Winter, wow. Let us know how the middle position sounds!

Yeah, man. By this point, I'm so used to my Epi's neck that I don't find the Gibson uncomfortable whatsoever.

I still prefer thinner necks, but just give me some time, I can adapt to any neck.

I actually had that combo for a while in my Epi. It's pretty good!
From what I know of the two, they would seem to work on paper. But you really can't know until you try them. With a 2v2t setup, the middle position should give a lot of tonal variations.

To be completely honest, I'm not 100% in love with the Super 2. It's sort of like a PAF Pro on steroids... and I don't like the PAF Pro. But it's working surprisingly well in this guitar. I guess it's because this guitar is just naturally fatter-sounding than my Epi. Still not sure if I'm going to keep it, but it's workable.

I also added Grover locking tuners. I would've gone for Gotoh, but I would've had to order online, and I'd rather just buy from the store locally.

X2N/Evolution Neck. I had that combo in my Epi 1959. I just ripped it out. I'm probably going to stick the Black Winter/Super 2 in the 1959 now.

I like how the X2N sounds in this guitar. I honestly just overall like how this guitar sounds better. It's fatter and throatier yet still with a very prominent attack (I felt it was too attack-y with the BW). Sounds more like a Les Paul.
