As the title reads, I need a new pedal. This is my current setup:
Agile LP copy with Duncan Custom in bridge->GE-7->Traynor YCV40.
In all honesty, I've only used my GE-7 once with the traynor and it got excessively loud (I use it as a boost and plan to keep it that way). However, I'm not content with the drive channel on the amp. It sounds pretty good with the gain dimed and the boost on, but other than that, it doesn't quite give me my tone.
I'm looking for an overdriven tone that has chuggy palm mutes as well as clarity for diminished/9th/13th/etc chords. So, I tried out a Bad Monkey into a Rivera tube amp (class a, 5 watts) and it sounded pretty amazing with the volume knob on the amp only at 9 o'clock.
Any suggestions? Would the Bad Monkey be a wise choice for alternative/indie rock? Think Saves The Day's "In Reverie".
