Need advice with 'Bucker for Strat

Re: Need advice with 'Bucker for Strat

Not having hum in the number 4 position (not 2) with a bucker in the bridge and single in the middle requires the split to be done so that the right coil is active when the bucker is split. If the active coil is of the same wind/polarity as the middle, you'll get the hum.

Artie had some diagrams or directions up somewhere on how to do this. They're probably in this lounge somewhere.

Re: Need advice with 'Bucker for Strat

I have a 59 Trembucker in one Strat, Custom Custom Trembucker in another and a Custom Trembucker in a third. They are all excellant pickups in a Strat and I'd be hard pressed to name a favorite, although I do really like the 59 TB. The CC is very smooth with thick pronounced mids, the Custom has high output and deep bass, thick mids and crisp highs, and the 59 has the vintage paf tone but probably the least mids and lowest output and reminds me of Clapton's tone with Cream. It's kind of nice having the extra output of the Custom and Custom Custom though for playing harder rock styles. Like I said, they're all great...just differant.
