Ok been round the amp search for a while.... I do this for a hobby but take it serious as I just plain love playing. I play in a coverband and we literally play blues, foo fighters, STP, POD, Free, Black Crowes well you get the picture. My feedback below is from playing in a live band situation with another guitar. I think I suffer from trying to cover too much ground. I and am hopeful you all great people could help suggest a new turn in direction. My experiences in last 5 years has been:
1) Older version Bogner Shiva: could never get it cookin; too loud - but loved the gain on some levels
2) Older recto - loved it for chug but nothing else
3) Orange Rockerverb - loved it and I mean loved the gain ; but too dark - could not hear myself in the mix unless i was too loud
4) New 2010 recto - great amp; improvement on the older version but I find myself not finding any ground I like for classic/hard rock rock
If I could sum up my needs it would be for a versatile EL 34 crunch with amazing lead tone and respectible cleans that has a great loop for pedals.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
