WITH FULL DISTORTION

Hails Guys
i was just playing the 5150, for almost 1 hour, or so.. and then, i turned DOWN all the volume/gain knobs.. and unpluged the guitar cable to change the guitars...
when i plugged the other guitar in, it didn´t make any sound.. i turned the knobs up, all of them, switched between the red and the green channels but no sound.
what could be the problem!?
i played the first guitar back , but no sound too.

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

Huuuuuuuuuuuuuumn, ****.. better a blown fuse, than a blown TUBE
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
Also.. when i tried to turn up the lnobs to see if i can hear something, i put it almost in the 9 , and it gave me a "SHISHSIHSIH background"
so, if it´s a blown FUSE, the voltage may be down for my house , etc!?
(bad english)

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

check the pre amp tubes ! last time i was messing around changing pre amp tubes and suddenly no sound ! i was like **** ! so i checked the pre amp tubes and swaped them and it worked normal again! maybe is a blown pre amp tube!

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

Hhahahahaha.
hummm, the ****ign FUSE is not transparent, but kinda GREY.
i´, placing a pic here for you ...

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

I'm no expert, but I guess it seems like you have a blown fuse then. AFAIK It's not difficult to find replacement ones, you just have to match the rating on the one you have. Hopefully someone else who knows more will say something...

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

Thank´s Metalman.
Q:) how´s the XXX are treating you!? ahahahah i want Soundclip.
Also, there must be a reason the fuse´s BLOWN. maybe an amp defect!?
i need to have this amp 100% for a long time, without having to do any preventive set up etc.

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

A blown fuse could be caused by any number of things... a power surge for example. Replace the fuse and see if it blows again. More than likely everything is fine with your amp. When I first unboxed my Diezel and turned it on it had a blown fuse (the tube fault LED was on). I replaced it and it has been fine ever since. Good luck WFD.

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

actually, that fuse may not be blown. they do make fuses that are ceramic. which means, you won't be able to see through it. if you still get the shshshshsh sound when the amp is turned up then it's not the fuse. time to check elsewhere.

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

My 5150 has never done anything like this.... Sorry to hear about the trouble....

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

Thank´s Guys
is there any problem if i put the fuse in the place again (vene if i don´t know its blown or not) and turn on the amp to see if it works? or you think i must buy a new fuse and ONLY turn the amp one with thsi new fuse?

Re: Need Help With 5150 Problem.

That fuse isn't blown. 5150's come stock with ceramic fuses - they always look like that. A regular glass fuse will work fine if it needs replaced, but I doubt that it does. When the fuse blows, the amp turns off. If your amp is still on but not making sound, it isn't the fuse.

Try a few more things:

Are you using any pedals? if so, take them out of the chain.

The problem might be your guitar cable. Try a different one.

Try a different speaker cable.

Try to wiggle your cable around just a bit in your input jack and see if it makes any noise. If it does, the input jack is bad. If it stays silent, that's not the problem.

Are all your power tubes in the back of the amp glowing the same way they always do? Are any of them REALLY blue or REALLY orange? Are any very dim compared to the rest?

If none of those things work, try replacing the preamp tubes.

EDIT: You can go ahead and put the fuse back in your amp without worry. The fuse is acting as a circuit breaker - when it blows, it cuts power to your amp. If you try to turn the amp on without the fuse don't worry - it won't hurt it. It just won't turn on.
