Need more nimble-fingered advice

With regards to hammer-ons and pull-offs...

Mine are sloppy. I know part of it is just "slow down, build speed," But, you know I'm old and I could go at any time

Anyway, I was wondering... do you guys do much string muting when doing HO/PO's? I do not whatsoever, and I'm wondering if that's hurting me.

when you say string muting, do you mean with your palm on the sting your trilling on, or muting open strings with fingers on right hand?

I don't palm mute when doing lagato stuff (HO/PU) ...

I meant palm muting,... yeah.

Guess I'll just need to slow down and concentrate.
