Alnico II Pro's mate. Or at least a Neck model. They really can do alot if you use them right.

In my LP's, SG's, and 335's, a C5 or C8 with 250K pots is not at all thin or ice picky. Full body, with just enough treble on top for bite. My C8's don't overpower the neck PU's, and if they did, all I'd have to do is lower them a little.

Heck, with 500K's they're still rather powerful and full.
Take my opinion with a grain of salt though, I like teles into fender twins with the treble cranked...

i agree with trying the CC in the LP, even if you don't dig it it's good experience.
the CC's cleans aren't great though; i'd suggest a demon in the bridge and a pearly or an A2P in the neck. good cleans, good dirt, good for high gain
