Need Seymour Duncan pick up ID/verification please.

Can anyone verify that this is indeed a US made '59 neck, or is it a far eastern knock off, pretending to be a USA made Duncan ?
Thanks to all.

Looks real to me. Haven't seen the older models without the serial counterfeited before, though not impossible. Trying to remember, 59 never have the logos? It appears that one should have had a cover (because the tape doesn't wrap onto the baseplate), but I don't see any tell-tale solder. Appears to be 4 conductor, which would have been a 'custom' order.

Current production 59s come without a logo on them. You can get 4 conductor 59s as a normal production but that one appears to have been too beat for a recent production. The label appears to not be current production either.

I'm no expert but looks legit to me. I don't think the counterfeits worry about reproducing the pole-piece rust...
and while I reckon the SH marking is more typical, If I'm not mistaken, I've seen similarly labelled pickups.

Yes, this 'version' does indeed come with a 4 conductor set up.

Real Duncan pickup made between 1996 and 2001. Maybe an OEM that came with a guitar.

Very possible.
I took it out of my 1976 Artist. I bought the guitars with a JB/59 set all ready installed.
Replaced these Duncans, with a set of TV Jones Power'trons.

Would like to use the 59 in another project guitar.

This is the SD JB in question.
That JB sticker just look sooo ''not legit''.
Could this be the real deal too ?

There was a period (in the early 90's I believe) that is in between the winder-initial stamped labels and the serial number labels that had plain black block lettering Dymo-type labels just like that. My understanding is some of those pickups actually may have been wound by Seymour at the time (depends on the model).

Seymour bought a dymo-type label printer in 1996. From that on they used it until 2001. At that time Seymour was busy in the Custom Shop, but they used the old Leesona winding machine for CS and at least for their own SD brand 59s.
Some folks mentioned that in the time they had also Dymo-type labels with an winder initial at the end, like 59NL. They say these are wound with the Leesona and sold in SD boxes while the OEMs are wound in the production with a CNC winder without the L on the label. But no proof here....

I have this 59 . I'm not able to date it. I've always thought the L at the end was the initial of Lydia Daniel (if I'm not wrong) aka the winder of this particular pickup (I have a bridge 59 with the J too). This story about the Leesona machine makes this pickup more interesting to me.IMG_20210425_212708.jpg

The problem with the L for Lidia (i instead of y!), that this is true only for the rubber stamp area. But in the later dymo type area you only find it with L or without any initial. This would mean that MJ and others shouldn't have wound a single 59 for years, only Lidia?? So the L could have changed the meaning from Lidia Daniels to Leesona at a time winder initials were not longer used.
This was discussed here in this forum years ago.

Yes Lidia with i, you are right. I think it is impossible to date my 59. I bought it second hand a couple of years ago with the Maricela wound 59B

Why not? Before the Dymo type lettering they had rubber stamped labels.
Yours has the smaller backlogo with Made in America and the rubber stamp with winder initials. These were made from 1988 to 1996.
