Need wiring help - Esquire tapped bridge PU

I purchased a Duncan STL-2T Hot Lead PU (tapped). I want to install it in an Equire I built. Does anyone have a schematic? Does the tapped bridge PU require a 5 way switch? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Dr.John

Have you wired a 3 way switch like the original esquire?

I'd have to noodle, but I think you could do it with a 4 or 5 way switch, but am unsure of how the positions will turn out.

You could also leave the blade switch alone and install a DPDT switch (toggle or p/p switch). IMO, the DPDT is easier to install and use (and you won't lose the current 3 way switching of the esquire, assuming you've wired it that way).

I have a three way switch in her now. I do have it wire like a normal esquire, but I can't seem to get the tapped mode to work.

I haven't had a chance to look into the 4 or 5 way switch, but the easiest way would be to use a DPDT push/pull or push/push switch.

Soldering the white wire to the bottom lug of the DPDT, the red wire to the top lug, and the middle lug of the DPDT to the switch (where the pickup hot goes to) will give you the full coil when down and the tapped version when in the up position. If you want it the other way, simply swap the red and white wires. Black still obviously goes to ground.

That way your 3-way switch will operate exactly the same as it does now. Let me know if you still need the 4 or 5 way blade switch scenario, as I'm unsure how that's going to work without studying the Esquire schematic.
