hi ..

so there are some chances that i play with a cover band that will play covers for bands like rush , van halen , deep purple , pinkfloyd .
i dont have much gear that i really can go and perform with. My guitar is quite good . i wanted to ask you if with the pod xt live or other multieffect i can achive this variety of tones ? and the tone will be good enough to perform with ?

tnx ..~

Re: need yor advice ..

well, as far as multieffects go , there is a huge difference between the better ones and the not so good ones. but the thing is tone doesnt depend on fx alone, the amp for example plays a major role in tone. and generally , a good amp has better tone than the tone on amp emulations on even the better multi-fx units.

what setup do u plan to use to perform with the pod xt? its good enough to be used live, many pro musicians do that too. but it depends on what else you use with it in you setup.

XT Live, GT-8, or whatever the Korg/Digitech Board-du-jour is will work. Only the guitar geeks will know or care if the tones are not spot-on. To cover that much stuff will require the programming/switching. More important is the chops and the tude. SKip the amp and go straight to the PA with one of those.

I agree. Some nights, my guitar teacher gigs with just a Tele and a Pod XTLive straight into the PA. Sounds great.
