Never thought this day would come.....

Re: Never thought this day would come.....

That's awesome!

I prefer it to guitars several times it's price! :D

Hopefully I'll get to hear it in person 1 day if we ever sort out our meetup with Stevie etc :)

Sounds like a plan mate, don't think you're too far from me anyways :friday:

Re: Never thought this day would come.....

I've always liked the standard US production PRS (I've owned half a dozen various McCarties), but I've never had the guts to buy any of the fancier, more expensive PRS like your Modern Eagle. That guitar is stunning, play it in good health! :) I've never tried the brazilian rosewood necks, but if it feels anything like one of the indian rosewood necks I had on a McCarty Soapbar I think you'll be in for a treat.

I've had another look at the pics and I've gone off it... :)

Thanks! I know what you mean about buying what appears to be such a fancy guitar. I saw this guitar hidden in a store months ago and had been thinking long and hard about whether to get it or not (I'm far from rich!). Over the years I have played many PRS guitars and some have been really great, last year I very nearly got a McRosie that was mint BUT I knew that I wanted an ME. What I really like is that whilst my photos seem to capture the beautiful figuring of the wood, because of the darker colour and the satin finish it doesn't stand out like a gloss finish, it's very subtle. That combined with the unfinished neck, perfect balance and relatively light weight make it one seriously comfortable guitar. I've played a few private stock models recently and whilst they were absolutely awesome I kept thinking about this ME... That told me all I needed to know!

Kudos to you for actually saving up and getting what you really want instead of settling :friday: You've saved yourself A LOT of money by not constantly buying and selling gear on a whim hoping to find a fair approximation of what you really wanted. If ever there was a piece of gear that would be a "lifetime investment" that looks like that'd be one of them!
