Re: New 112 cab day
K100 and K85 in old metal-oriented cabs are more common than you'd think. Hell even I got an old Carvin I bought for $175 with 2 k85's (and 2 g12-65's) in it.
Of course, situation might be different in Finland?
Americans tend to live in suburbia with plenty of room in a garage or basement, everyone drives and often large vehicles that easily fit gear. Here, INDIVIDUALS tend to own 4x12 cabs...
If I was on a mission to score a couple K85/K100's, I'd just track down a used 412 for $150-300, strip the speakers and sell the unneeded leftovers and the cab empty for break even or profit
I know some urbanized places in Europe and Asia have a different tradition, stacks are commonly found only in businesses - practice spaces, venues and studios, and people rarely bring their own sh!t or own anything that large
PS the k85 will actually be labelled 15ohm not 16. But it's the same thing, 15 and 16ohm are "nominal" resistances that tell you what other speakers to pair em with and what tap to plug into...not actual ohmage readings
Yep. Because 4x12 loaded with 12k-100 are everywhere...
