New 7 String Day

Picked up this Schector Damien Elite 7 for a steal. I'm really digging the 26.5 scale length. It really does make a huge difference in keeping the guitar tight and defined. I don't know if I could go back to a 25.5 scale. Anyway... Here's a quick cell phone pic.

Very nice! I played one of these recently and really dug it. Congratulations on an awesome NGD! :headbang:

Re: New 7 String Day

Thanks guys. I did a complete setup on the guitar last night and couldn't be happier with it. The only real complaint that I could voice about the guitar is that upper fret access is not very good. This is not a huge issue for me, as I don't really play up at the 24th fret anyway. However, if you're one if those players who like to burn way up high I would definitely say play it before you buy it.

I will again say that I live the 26.5 scale. It really does make a huge difference on the guitar remaining tight. It has a great throaty aggressive tone that just has a really cool growl in the lower mids. I've heard this tone on clips by Ola and Merrow, but actually hearing it out if the guitar that I'm playing is super cool. I definitely think my next 7 with the the Ibanez RGD, so I can get the 26.5 scale with a floating trem.

Congrats man!
I've never played the Damien series, but I can confirm the Hellraiser, Loomis and Blackjack 7 strings also have the slight lack of fret access. Doesn't really worry me since I'm not a super shred dude, but it may bother some.
Anyone looking for a baritone 7 should definitely take a look at Schecter, they make some great 7 strings.
