New Carvin V3m micro amp

Re: New Carvin V3m micro amp

cool thing about new carvin stuff is, it's usually pretty cheap for the first several months/year before it catches on and they jack up the price.

Re: New Carvin V3m micro amp

... I can't get into EL84-equipped small amps like those... their overdrive is too polite to my ears- the penny loafer tone... especially the Tiny Terror... tried one but I couldn't gel w/ that timid sound.

For most of the time i have to agree with you, but have you heard/played an EL84-driven Marshall 2061X yet ?

It is the exception to the rule, but i like the raunchy gritt of this one.

Re: New Carvin V3m micro amp

I want. I have a V3' it's an awesome amp, once this micro comes out I'll probably be selling my V3 to get this.

The demos of the V3 on YouTube stink since everyone focuses on how much gain they can get out of it. No one shows the soak mode on the clean channel, which gives. A killer JTM 45 type blues tone.

My guess in Carvin will price it around $600-$700 considering the full size head goes for $949 and they want to stay competitive with the other micro head prices.

Re: New Carvin V3m micro amp

I just got off of the phone with CARVIN ,they are not releasing any info till monday..

Re: New Carvin V3m micro amp

I can't wait to try this bad boy out. However I just got my hands on a hot little El84 driven monster which has a "power soak" feature.....NAD soon to come.....

There's supposed to be a HD version on youtube.

... Wow! That little Marshall is definitely an exception - the overdrive is raw and kicks like an old JMP! Not "penny loafer"... definitely jack boot... :D *IMO* a basic sound like can go from classic rock, '70s punk rock, New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, or thrash metal w/ a TubeScreamer or similar. Thanks for the clips! :friday:

Re: New Carvin V3m micro amp

Eddie (salesman) from CARVIN called me yesterday (monday) for my credit card,i was on the waiting list,so now i have a V3M (head) heading my way as soon as they start shipping at the end of march, it will be a long couple of months, also no info on a new F/Switch, as the FS-44L is for the X100 series amp, the F/S will work, but will not show what channel it is on, i'm still hoping they offer an LED version, indicating each channel..

Re: New Carvin V3m micro amp

That Carvin might have to go on the 'stuff to buy this year' list. Rammer69, I envy your patience. I doubt I could pay for it two months ahead and and not lose my mind waiting.
