Re: New Charvels
Thanks for that site! Prices look pretty good! Quality stuff? I need to do a build. I have an old Kramer body, need to refin and get a neck for it.
XSSIVE,
Back in the day, when Charvel came out with the model series, I thought it was absolute blasphemy. Overseas?? WTF?? And, I guess the purist side of me still kinda agrees. BUT.. The Japanese made model series are amazing guitars at a good price point. The real down fall is that they started whoreing them out to cheaper and cheaper models and builds in other countries and totally destroyed the brand. Same as Kramer. The Focus series were blashemy back in the day, but many of those too are great guitars at an offshore price. Then came the strikers and the ax series or whatever and they became synonymous with cheap entry level junk..
One more note.. I have seen some USA made Charvels that are stars with the pointy headstock. Matter of fact, before they made the "comeback" that was one of the few models you could still order. I wanted one, but they were a premium price.
Well, I'm building one of these soon: http://www.tkcustomguitars.com/guitar/star-replacements/star/
The Warmoth just doesn't look right to me.
