I know what it iiiiiissssss, I know what it iiiiissssssss. I actualy got to touch the guitar that was sent to SD for Dave Mustaine, a Jackson if I remember correctly. It's a sweet looking V with his name on the headstock. Scott Miller told me about the pickups, but I won't go into detail. I will tell you that they have sweet black nickel covers.....and are really hot.

Interesting...that sounds EXACTLY like his "main" KV-1....but for about 2 years he´s been sOOOOOO pissed at Jackson (most likely because they wouldn´t sell the company to him) that he´s been selling off ALL of them, and IIRC according to his own words he sold the last one off about 2 months ago ** *edit* Make that 6 months** (At an über-Inflated "Dave is god" Price, BTW, and w/ masking tape that said "ESP" on it over the Jackson Logo..)

Talk about lowering your own credibility / Lying to yourself and thinking others will believe you .... But that´s never really been Dave´s strong suit, anyway, sooooo...

No no guys! When he said way wrong, he meant that it's going to be an Active single coil with rail.

I know what the pickups are supposed to sound like (can't say in respect for SD & Crew) and I got a picture of his ESP with them in it. I can't show it unless Evan says its cool.

Scott, have you ever heard Mustaine play?

I'm not really surprised he didn't participate, as his style isn't really the 'off the cuff' type of thing that went on last night.

I've heard his stuff, but never seen him live. Here's my opinion and it's just mine...

He could have really made 4 metal head young lives just about complete if he'd jumped up there and played with y'all. Or played at all. I and a lot of others were absolutely thrilled that dude was there. Very cool of him to show up. I'm not going to dis him in any way. Nice gentleman for sure. I enjoyed my brief exchange with him.

But, if I had mad guitar god skills, I think I would have shared the love a bit. That's just my personality though.

I know I would have loved to laid down some rhythm for Lynch to rip up on. But it was more fun to watch him and Gomano exhange licks. From my side of the room, I couldn't hear George nearly as well as Robb. But, I digress...

I would have loved to hear Mustaine up there having a good time. But it's just not his deal. Not something he does at all according to his wife. That's cool with me. I was really happy he was there walking around and meeting people. He's so low key that if you didn't *know* who he was, you'd have thought he was just another forum member.

It's all good in the end. Can't wait to hear his new signature pup!

As for the comments about "he should just stick with the JB", man, we all swap pups around here looking for the ultimate. WHy not rock stars too? Let em go! The results could be epic.

Same here. I was just looking at the pics of it I took. I really like the way it looks. But like you said, I'm not gonna say anything or post a pic unless it's cool with Evan.

Dave was supposed to come to UGD earlier in the day and pick up his two guitars loaded with two different prototypes. Unfortunately, he got stuck in traffic coming up from San Diego (on a Friday afternoon, it must have taken forever).

Anyway, please don't post any pictures of the guitar or the pickups for the simple reason that Dave hasn't seen them yet himself.

i'm betting it has something to do with the duncan distortion and the jb possibly being combined in some way. maybe like a distortion with the jb's eq or a ceramic magnet-ed jb.

why did i bring up the distortion? because a) they used the duncan designed version in one of the jackson king v's (dave's old main guitar.) and b) it just KILLS!!!
