New DeMartini Custom Shop Pickup (my new favorite)

Re: New DeMartini Custom Shop Pickup (my new favorite)

BloodRose, I think you need to order one for sure. If you don't like it, you can always knock $20 off of the cost and sell it outright to some one on here, because there would be "no 4 week wait".

Plus, being local to me.......I could own it like an hour after it goes up for sale!!!! :headbang:

LOL! I hear ya..

Thanks for the update PB! I love harmonics!!

I dunno man....the only way to tell if it's for you is to bite the bullet & get one.

Then if it doesn't work out, move it along here.

OR go old school & use a JB !!! :D

I'm happy to announce that my new Warmoth strat w/ DeMartini RTM pickup will be completed tomorrow. I'll be sure to let you know what I think of it.

Judging by the specs, I would think that a JB with an A2 magnet would get you really close for about 1/2 the price. When I saw the specs, I took an old JB trembucker I had that was wound to around 18K and put an A2 in it, then put it in the all maple guitar in my avatar. It sounds really good, very smooth, no ice-picky highs, tight lows (I'm sure the maple body helps this alot too). It's definitely my favorite tone combination for now.

I'm not saying the WD pickup is a just a JB with an A2, but...

I was going to say the same exact thing, but you said it so well, and beat me to it.

Since Warren played JBs for so long, I'm sure the CS model is "I like the JB, can we just make it a little smoother", bingo, A2 magnet...

Yes, I know a JB is 16.4K or so and the CS WD pickup is 17.6K, but that's not that much difference and probably within the JB's specs, I've had JBs that were 17.6K - 18.3K.

If it is a JB with an A2, based on my experience, it rocks, at least in a maple/maple bolt on geetar.
