New Gibson CEO

Leo also was responsible for many bad ideas that never took off.

Leo was engineering small scale, mom and pop type research... Although he wasn't a musician himself, he regularly tried out his designs on musicians he trusted.

In many ways he was first to market which gave him plenty of time to tinker...

This works when you're little. Doesn't work in big markets.

POOR LEO HE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL IF ONLY HIS "SMALL SCALE" INVETIONS WOULD HAVE GONE ANYWHERE ....

You know of the success he had...he had a history of trying out tons of things that really didn't work, or were just outright terrible ideas.

I haven't read more than a few posts in this thread and don't keep up with the Gibson drama.

I sure hope they put out more than 5 Maestro pedals though.

The first move by the new CEO is to restructure marketing, a very interesting move. Most of the people in this thread said marketing is an area Gibson needs to focus on.

NASHVILLE, TN (May 15, 2023) Gibson, the iconic, leading American instrument brand, is proud to announce the promotion of Elizabeth “Beth” Heidt to the role of Chief Marketing Officer, Gibson Brands. A 7-year veteran of Gibson, Beth spent her early years at Gibson in Entertainment Relations, and in 2021 was promoted to Vice President of Cultural Influence. An expert team builder and marketer, Beth will also join Gibson’s worldwide leadership executive team. Prior to Gibson, Beth worked in brand strategy, production and experiential marketing with House of Blues, Red Bull and Fortune 500 brands including Samsung, Hyundai, Live Nation, Verizon, and AT&T.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Beth will be responsible for overseeing Gibson Brands’ global brand and marketing teams, entertainment and artist relations, social media, partnerships, public relations, multi-media divisions, as well as the Gibson Gives Foundation.

“Congratulations to Beth on her promotion! Anyone who has worked with her agrees this is the perfect gig,” says Alex Lifeson of RUSH, and member of the Gibson Gives Advisory Circle. “In the years I’ve come to know Beth, she has been supremely helpful, professional, and down to earth. She is a caring, empathetic soul whose generosity of spirit is a highlight of her character. I’m thrilled for you, Beth.”

Here comes the re-vamped "Firebird X" or similar.
Gibson's not in the business of making affordable guitars so just squash that theory now.
