after a few months of trying out amps. i finaly found one i really like. yesterday i went to a few stores played an orange some mesa's a few fenders and marshalls. at the first store the setup i liked the best was a marshall vintage modern through one of the handwired marshall 2x12 cabs. i almost bought it but decided to check out a few more places. i liked the vintage modern and it was 50 watts which is what i like to stay at or alittle less. but i decided to check out guitar center. i played a few amps there and they had one of the JVM heads. so i decided to try it. i really liked the sound and it wasnt as hard to figure out as i thought it would be. it was hooked up through a 1960A 4x12 cab. but i dont need 100 watts. after awhile in there a salesmen walked up to me and it happened to be a guy i have known for awhile. that i havent seen in a year or so. so he took me around and let me try stuff through different cabs. then i asked about prices. he said he would see what he could do. he came back with the best deal that anyone had offered me. so i took. it and ended up leaving with a JVM head marshall 1960 vintage 4x12 cab a used schecter tempest black jack, voodoo labs pedal power 2, 2 sets of the planet waves pedal kits, speaker cable, strap and straplocks, strings, pickup mounting rings, the girl i was with got a case and a cable. we ended up getting all that for $500 more than what the guy priced the vintage modern and handwired 2x12 cab to me for. best part is i got the cab for $500 out the door new. does anyone know what speakers come in these? the guy said he thought vintage 30's.
