NEW GUITAR DAY! (EXTREME TELE CONTENT INSIDE!)

Fender 60th Anniversary 1975 Telecaster (Telebration series)

This guy just showed up today! Snagged it on an amazing deal from MF - It's used + sale discounts and coupons. This is my first time buying used from MF. Overall the guitar is in excellent condition. Not sure why someone returned it. However, I did discover that the high-e tuner peg is bent. Still fully functional, but you can feel it wobble a bit and see the angle if you catch the right angle looking right at the headstock. I restrung it with 10's and I'm going to wait till tomorrow to do any more setup just to let it acclimate for 24 hours. Plays pretty good, but needs a few tweaks to get it where I like. I'll probably raise the action a bit and probably get the bridge pickup nice and high so that it's hotter.

This one is part of the Tele-bration series Fender did to mark the 60th anniversary of the Telecaster. It's inspired by the 1975 Jazz Bass with the natural ash finish and the black block inlays. Even has Jazz Bass knobs! Some people think these are ugly, but I think it's just super cool! I have wanted a Tele Custom for some time now and I love that this one is unique and set apart from the '72 reissues.

Nice stuff brother!

I used to play a 72 or 73 Jazzbass that was dead ringer for that...natural ash body, black blocks and binding...the while jammy!

Enjoy it my man.

Congratulations, man! :beerchug:

I love Tele Customs, and that's a beauty.

I'd be interested to hear your opinion of that neck pickup.

That's fvcking awesome! I love that guitar so much.

Also, Fenders with LP toggle switches are the tits.

Thanks guys!

The treble is certainly rolled off, but I'd say less so than the SD 59's I have in the neck position of two of my other Teles. Very warm, a bit muffled sounding, but otherwise pleasant. Sounds wicked when you kick on a fuzz pedal. Very strong sounding.

I'm gassing for out-of-the-ordinary teles. The 60th anniversary series is awesome.

Re: NEW GUITAR DAY! (EXTREME TELE CONTENT INSIDE!)

Love all those elements. My son is 18 months, he's a big fan of toggle switches. He's also totally stock, haven't modded him yet.

Re: NEW GUITAR DAY! (EXTREME TELE CONTENT INSIDE!)

yeah that looks pro. i like that pickguard over the other tele style ones. PLus the humbucker in the neck looks mint. Is that kid about to destroy that guitar? i have a 1 and half year old who destroys everything haha

Re: NEW GUITAR DAY! (EXTREME TELE CONTENT INSIDE!)

I LOVE the inlays and the layout with the toggle and bucker!! congrats!

Really nice Tele. I am GASING for a tele since a while. And that Tele is really cool.

Re: NEW GUITAR DAY! (EXTREME TELE CONTENT INSIDE!)

what's the purpose of having such a big pickguard? the guitar would look even better without it.

The purpose is that it's a styling thing. It also covers the routing for the switch and the controls. Personally I dislike Teles without a guard.
